London, South Grounds, The Royal Hospital, Chelsea Embankment, London SW3 4LW, UK

Our guide to this extraordinarily rich period in the history of art is both erudite and amusing. Philip, a former director at both Sotheby's and Christie's, is familiar to many from his urbane appearances on the Antiques Roadshow.

The date and location of this event will be announced soon. Age Unlimited is absolutely delighted that we have arranged a really special event in conjunction with art dealer and writer Philip Hook – who has so kindly agreed to talk about his brilliantly received book ‘ Art of the Extreme 1905-1914’ – and Masterpiece London 2022, the hugely successful art fair that takes place at  The Royal Hospital, Chelsea.

Your ticket to the talk will include early admittance to the lecture hall at Masterpiece to listen to Philip’s fascinating lecture before being able to spend the day visiting the stands at Masterpiece from 11.00am.

‘The Art of the Extreme’ concentrates on the painting and sculpture of the decade before the 1st World War: Philip believes this time is ‘quite possibly the most important post Renaissance art history’.

Launched in 2010, Masterpiece London has established itself as one of the world's leading interdisciplinary art fairs. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, the Fair provides a truly unique experience and an opportunity to discover the very best in art, design, antiques, and fine jewellery, brought together by over 130 international exhibitors.

Age Unlimited is indebted to both Philip and the team at Masterpiece for making this very special day possible.

Tickets are strictly limited and cost £70 pp which includes all-day entry to the fair (tickets for the Fair only are £38.50) and the lecture. Philip has also kindly agreed to sign books on the morning.
